DEDA Server Options, Add-ons and Upgrades
 
Below are the most popular add-ons and their corresponding prices.
 
RAM
 
Additional RAM will increase server performance and database response speed. This is our most popular add-on for DEDA machines.
RAM is offered in increments of 32 MB. 
  • $20 setup per 32 MB increment
  • $20 per month per 32 MB increment
Example: You want to add 96 MB of RAM to your server, which is equal to 3 increments of 32 MB. The cost would be $60 setup and $60 per month.
 
Hard Drive
 
Hard drive upgrades are the solution if you need even more storage space than what is standard with our DEDA options. These upgrade options are available for our DEDA2 and larger accounts.
Hard drive upgrades:
  • 9.2 GB SCSI HD - $99 setup / $49 per month
  • 18 GB SCSI HD - $249 setup / $99 per month
  • 36 GB SCSI HD - $499 setup / and $149 per month
Tape Backup
 
Virtualis provides a second hard drive to all FreeBSD machines for backup purposes. If however you would like alternative options for backup, we have those as well.
  • 8 GB SCSI Tape Drive - $59 setup / $59 per month
  • 20 GB SCSI Tape Drive - $89 setup / $89 per month
  • Weekly tape backup service - $69 setup / $69 per month
  • Add A/B rotation - $0 setup / $69 per month
  • Additional Tapes - $39 each
  • Monthly mailing - $15 per month
Bandwidth
 
Virtualis offers very generous bandwidth with all of the DEDA packages. However, there may be instances when your site traffic demands even more.

There is no need to upgrade your full server package when you only need more bandwidth. Virtualis monitors your bandwidth usage and restricts your site to a specified amount. We will never automatically send you surprise invoices for extra bandwidth used. You may upgrade your bandwidth amount at any time.

Additional bandwidth is billed in increments of 30 GB/month.

The cost is just $125 per month for each additional 30 GB/month.
 
 

Dual Processors
 
Virtualis now offers Dual Processor options on our DEDA3 and higher. This feature will give you an addtional chip that matches the standard. Prices include Intel GX Motherboard, larger case and premium RAM.

Raid and Fault Tolerance Options
 
Virtualis has a very robust fault tolerance system set up that utilizes RAID controllers and multiple drives. This feature is available for DEDA5 accounts only and the prices vary according to the number and size of Hard drives you would like set up.

Red Hat Linux
 
If you prefer to have Red Hat Linux as the Operating System on your server, we can install that for you! There is a one time set up fee of just $99 for this feature.
 

 
Sun Sparc
 
Virtualis offers Sun Sparc Ultra 2 with Solaris machines as custom orders for our DEDA5 package. If you would like pricing or additional information on this option, please email our DEDA Sales team.
