Operating System Options

Your Virtualis DEDA server will have FreeBSD as the Operating System by default. FreeBSD gives you the most technical support, as well as access to our HiRize tools. FreeBSD is 95% compatible with Linux as well, so you can normally have the best of both worlds! With the FreeBSD operating system you receive a wide variety of technical support at no additional cost: Free operating system support Free HiRize™ support 24-hour monitoring system Free installation of popular 3rd party software Full backup of your files with our BoB system Please Note: If you delete files, run software, or otherwise issue commands that damage your server, you may incur costs for our technicians to fix such problems. IP Address Information

In accordance with Internet standards, Virtualis requires that a proof of need is supplied for at least 60% of requested IP addresses. Virtualis will not, by default, use additional IP addresses for your virtual domains. Instead they are spawned from your main IP address. Additional IP addresses (within your DEDA limit) can be obtained by contacting support. They will not be automatically assigned upon the order of your DEDA. Virtualis will not bind IP addresses to Virtual Domains on your server.

Technical Support

Virtualis offers free 24 hour technical support for our Managed Dedicated Servers, every day of the year. Virtualis employs a robust proprietary 24-hour monitoring system that constantly tests all primary services and ports on your DEDA. Because users of DEDA servers often require more assistance than those of our shared server options, Virtualis offers free support only for servers running the FreeBSD operating system. Virtualis will install most popular 3rd party software for free on your DEDA, but we are not responsible for maintenance or configuration of such software. Virtualis provides free daily backup of your files on FreeBSD machines.
